The Beautiful and Mysterious New Trailer for “Super 8” Michael Lee, March 11, 2011March 11, 2011 I believe you. Oh wow this looks likes something straight out of an old sci-fi movie. Wait a minute it is. The theatrical trailer for the highly anticipated Super 8 has finally arrived and if you are one for nostalgia then this is the trailer, no movie you should be watching. Just hit the jump to see the trailer. Everything about this trailer bleeds nostalgia, the town, the camera, the fashion (yes I said fashion), the vehicles, even the Amblin logo at the very beginning. Even though we get all this great footage and nostalgia, we still don’t know what is going on, why the military has really arrived, or what is causing this mayhem in this small Midwestern town.Just watch the trailer below and judge for yourself.Does Abrams know how to sell a movie or does he know how to sell a movie? Abrams has to be without a doubt one of the best active director’s to date. A lot of this trailer reminds me of what E.T. The Extra Terrestrial and Close Encounters of the Third Kind evoked, a sense of mystery and wonder along with great character development.Super 8 will be released in theaters on June 8th.
