“Green Lantern” Viral Responds to Readers Michael Lee, May 11, 2011May 11, 2011 As the release date for Green Lantern draws near, advertisements for the film are starting to appear. With trailers, tv spots, and toys being the usual go to ads, WB has not forgot to reach out to the Internet audiences. Their virals have led up to an ARG and a promotional campaign with Doritos as their partner. Jonnny, one of our readers, sent an e-mail to Dr. Amanda Waller (played by Angela Basset), and received a reply from her. Hit the jump to see what our reader sent and what she said in response to that email. In a blog post by Brain, the Newton and District Astronomer’s Guild asked readers to send out an e-mail to Dr. Waller saying I’d like to draw your attention to a strange astronomical phenomenon we have discovered around Cygnus. Since the night of 1st May new fuzzy red objects have appeared in the dark nebula that have not been reported in that sector of space before. Something big is happening out there. I have proof. Thank you MovieViral.com reader Jonny filled out the contact information required and sent the e-mail to Dr. Waller and received this e-mail. I’d like to support the Newton Astronomers Guild’s application for a closer look at the Cygnus anomaly. My observations support their assertion that completely new artifacts have appeared in this sector of space and this needs to be investigated. I can surmise that this will be the e-mail that will be sent out to those who also filled out all their contact information. Although it would be great if a variety of e-mails were sent out. With the Green Lantern a little over a month away from release, we can expect more ads to appear. Let’s just hope that they also remember to keep up with their virals. It has been six days since we saw a new Newton’s Astronomer’s blog post, so don’t be surprised to see a new one some time in the near future. We will keep you updated as The Green Lantern ARG progresses. Viral Marketing Green Lantern
Cool Motion Poster for The Other Guys March 26, 2010August 26, 2010 Adam McKay’s (Anchorman, Talladega Nights) The Other Guys opens in August, but very little from the movie has been seen, despite its big name actors. Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell star as two mismatched New York City detectives who seize an opportunity to step up like the city’s top cops… Read More
Missing Reel? Try Missing Film March 12, 2009February 21, 2010 Could the best form of viral be no viral at all? That could be the reason why a film such as The Poughkeepsie Tapes is getting known. The film was originally shown at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2007 and set for a release date of February of 2008. But… Read More

Got this as a reply: I’ll say to you what I’m saying to everyone – if you have access to a telescope, make some observations of this so-called Cygnus anomaly and tell me what you see. If you don’t, ask some friends who do.Evidence is golden, and going from a single observation to pointing the Spitzer Space telescope at something is a big risk to take. I need to know more about what’s up there.AW– From the desk of Dr Amanda WallerBelle Reve
That’s cool. Hopefully this means that there are different ones being sent out and that the ARG is progresing.

Got this today: “As far as the Cygnus Anomaly is concerned, I have to tell you what I am telling many people. There is not current evidence enough to warrant the emergency redirecting of a multi-million dollar telescope.Perhaps if interest persists and new reports come in like yours, that situation may change.Keep reading the blog for more,AW”
