Strange Noises Heard Around The World Could Have Scientific Explanation Dan Koelsch, January 27, 2012January 27, 2012 Earlier this week, we reported on a phenomenon sweeping the Internet in which strange noises were heard around the world. These roars/groans from the sky are a bit frightening, which may have contributed to videos of the occurance flooding YouTube (along with many hoaxes). While we considered the idea that the sounds were some kind of marketing ploy, we now have at least one scientific explanation that might resolve this issue. Find out after the jump. I was surfing YouTube last night when I found the video below. It’s a news report from Canadian channel CTV that talks about the sounds. The professor in the clip explains that the sounds are coming from the Aurora Borealis (aka the Northern Lights) causing electromagnetic noise within nearby environmental antennas. It sounds a bit like the Roswell weather ballon explanation to me, especially since these noises have not been heard before (at least not recently, since this is the first time the Internet has been up in arms about it). What do you think? Is this a good explanation? Viral Marketing Viral News Cloverfield 2GodzillaStrange NoisesViral video

Dan’s High Five: 5 Sequels That Are Better Than The Original November 15, 2009November 15, 2009I’m continuing sequel month by going in the opposite direction of last week’s “High Five”by talking about good sequels. In fact, I’m going to list five sequels that were actually BETTER than the originals. Now, this doesn’t mean the originals were bad, so don’t get all mad. I also understand… Read More

sounds like one of those Revelations in the back of the Holy Bible to me… doesn’t an Angel blow a trumpet or something? The Bible talks in code you know 🙁
Actually, that may be related to the explanation. Look up Schumann’s resonances and combine that with the fact that the Earth’s magnetic field is at an almost all-time (as far as the records go at least) low. I don’t see the aurora as an explanation, so much as a parallel symptom.
First, I live in North Dakota and back in Oct. I heard this sound. I would swear by it. To be honest, I never thought much about it till my news played a recording and the memory came back loud and clear. Not worried if anyone thinks this is a hoax. It may play out to explained by being exactly that…online. However, I know what I heard, and thats the sound, loud and clear. A change is a’coming, dont know what….but it’s a’coming.
so ya… basically haarp antennas, he forgot the part where scientist are shooting electricity into the outer attmosphere and we dont know how much their shooting, laast i read it was a billion watts and their aiming for 100 billion… what a shady explanation
I heard this around 4 AM about 2 years ago in CT, USA. I thought it sounded like the machines in war of the worlds. Very creepy and I remember it clear as day.
It really does worry me, I played the YouTube compilation clip to my 7 yr old, she has had nightmares for the last 3 nights. So not much sleep for either of us. I really hope nothing bad is going to happen.
No matter what the noises are, we have no control over this. Whatever it is, is is really quite spectacular. I don’t believe it is anything ominous. It’s just noise, so let’s just keep it in perspective and not scare the living daylight out of everyone. Perhaps this noise if from all those trees who fell in the forest and want to be heard
It’s absurd to say the noises are from the northern lights since these events have been heard in places where there are no northern lights ( such as Florida, Costa Rica and Venezuela) and I’ve been seeing the northern lights most of my life and never heard these sounds at the same time.
I do not believe it could possible be a proper explanation. as it is being recorded around the world. russia, Austrailia Puerto Rico Etc. I honestly think it sounds like Ice Breaking a VERY LARGE piece of ice breaking or stressing. and the sound echoing around the world in the upper atmosphere. it would also account for the unexplained ground tremors in the northern hemisphere.
I dont have the slightest idea. couldnt be coming from space because space is a vacuum(is that how u spell it?) Could sound travel thru space-not being heard by someone (hypothetically)but once it hits our atmosphere re-manifests into sound? No siesmic events are being recorded, and being as they are so sensitive they would register sound this loud eminating from the ground. The HAARP array? I live 150 miles from the array and we dont hear anything-although that doesnt necessarily mean that it wouldnt project elsewhere as that is what the system was developed for. I am religious but not fanatical about it,however COULD it be something otherworldly? If so what would it be? I just dont know…..
