Trailers Weekly: “Snow White and the Huntsman”, “The Sound of My Voice”, “Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted”, “Cosmopolis”, “The Host” Michael Lee, March 24, 2012December 28, 2012 Trailers Weekly is a feature in which we bring you the most popular and talked about trailers of the week. Sharing trailers is a classic viral practice, and trailers are still the most mainstream way for people to learn about movies. We got some rather exciting trailers for you this week. We got the first trailers for The Sound of My Voice, Cosmopolis, and The Host. We also got the second trailers for Snow White and the Huntsman and Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted. Hit the jump to see them all. The Sound of My Voice This indie movie is a huge thrill and made so much noise during the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. The Sound of My Voice follows a pair of investigative journalists who start to infiltrate a suburban cult and become drawn into something much bigger than they expected. Their is a cold chill and and eerie silence that’s in the air when watching this trailer.Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted Though the movie probably doesn’t need another adventure with those wayward New York zoo escapees, a script from Noah Baumbach (Fantastic Mr. Fox) could be just the thing to make this movie watchable. Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, David Schwimmer, and Jada Pinkett Smith all return to reprise their roles. They are joined by Sacha Baron Cohen, Andy Richter, Jessica Chastin, Bryan Cranston, and Frances McDormand.Cosmopolis For those who think that all Robert Pattinson can do is be a sparkly swooning imbicle, then his role in David Cronenberg’s next new film, Cosmopolis, should change your mind. Pattinson looks as though as he wants to separate himself from being Edward and wants to be recognized for mature roles like these. Cosmopolis looks absolutely dark and twisted! The Host Stephenie Meyer’s creative writing skills didn’t stop at vampires and werewolves, she continued onto a new young adult novel called The Host. While this is just a mere teaser trailer, it does have some positive aspects. Like how the camera is transfixed on the eye. Hopefully this is a sign that an adaptation of Meyer’s novels can actually be good.Snow White and the Huntsman So we got Twilight’s leading lady in a very different role of her own, and again it looks as though as if she wants to separate herself from those vampire movies. This is a more intense trailer and the last one that was released, but with a bit more focus on the visual aspects. What did you think of this week’s trailers? Which was your favorite?
