Short Film “Reboot” Starts ARG Involving Trailer Dan Koelsch, April 9, 2012April 9, 2012 The holiday may have already passed, but for those not willing to let go, there’s one short film that has plenty of easter eggs for you. The cyberpunk thriller Reboot, which was funded through Kickstarter, is putting on an ARG that starts off with their trailer. Take a look and get the details after the break. The trailer above can be found on the film’s official website, and if you pay close enough attention, there are a few clues that can get you rewards, including a pretty cool desktop wallpaper that I don’t want to spoil for you. While the campaign has already started, it shouldn’t be that hard to catch up. There are several “Levels” that you can get to, and the players with the top 10 high scores will receive a free HD download of the film when it becomes available. The grand prize winner also gets the official soundtrack signed by the composer and a poster signed by the writer/director. In a smart move, there will be a sneak preview of the film at DEF CON (the hacker’s Comic-Con) in July. In Reboot, a young female hacker awakens from a traumatic event that she scarcely remembers, and an iPhone glued to her hand. On the phone, a countdown is ticking away to zero. What happens at zero? Who is she, and why has she become an extension of the device? As the minutes tick away, our heroine must race against time to put the pieces together before the mysterious, pending zero-hour strikes.
