If movies set in the future have taught us anything, its that we probably won’t be seeing flying cars, levitating skateboards, or half human-half cyborg cops any time soon. One can only imagine how far technology will advance in the next 100 years, if it advances at all. But playing with the idea that technology will dramatically change within a 100 years is fun, and with that notion, we can proudly introduce the Weyland Med Pod 720i, something you will see in Ridley Scott’s upcoming film Prometheus. Hit the jump to find out more.
Here’s a small description of the new Weyland Med Pod 720i
This expensive piece of hardware comes equipped with the latest in medical science technology. The features of the Med Pod 720i include an Airtight Operating Shield, Comfortable Limb Restraints, a Laser Scalpel, Computer Controlled Robotic Surgical Arms, Liquid Spray Anesthetic and Vital Signs Sensors all mounted on an Adjustable Titanium Base!
This new piece of medical technology gives new meaning to “you get what you pay for”.
Comfortable limb restraints, a laser scalpel, spray anesthetic, and vital sign sensors may be years away from being invented, but we are already playing around with controlled robotic surgical arms, so who’s to say we won’t be getting any of the other aforementioned features from the new Weyland Med Pod 720i.
Some of you may recognize this piece of technology from the trailers, which is why I chose it to be the header image.
Prometheus hits theaters on June 8th.
