Comic-Con 2012: “Star Trek: The Next Generation” Blu-ray Interview

Dan Koelsch, July 13, 2012

After the success of the HD transfer of Star Trek: The Original Series, fans clamored for the same treatment for The Next Generation. They’ll get their wish on July 24th, when the Blu-ray for Season 1 of Star Trek: TNG is released. At the San Diego Comic-Con 2012 panel, CBS showed some footage, and afterwards, I had a roundtable interview with some of the important men and woman who made it all possible. Watch the video after the break.

Sorry about the audio, it sounded ok before I converted it for web, so the quality dropped considerably.

As a Trekkie myself, I was honored to be in the presence of Mike Okuda, as you can tell by how I stumble over my words. Those in attendance were Roger Lay, Jr. (producer/director, Blu-ray), Mike and Denise Okuda (project consultants), David S. Grant (vice president, multimedia, CBS Television Distribution), Ryan Adams (director, multimedia, CBS Television Distribution), Craig Weiss (creative director, CBS Digital), Eric Bruno (lead compositor), and Wade Felker (film transfer technician).
