Watch: Sugar Rush Arcade Ad For Disney’s “Wreck-It Ralph” Michael Lee, October 15, 2012October 15, 2012 Disney is stirring up some nostalgia with the upcoming release of the video game flick Wreck-It Ralph. Now the film isn’t based on a video game per say, but it does draw inspiration from many fan favorite coin-op arcades. Recently, we posted an article that centered on a 1982 commercial featuring Litwak’s latest arcade game Fix It Felix, Jr. The video was a fun play on those arcade games we all used to know and love. Now we flashfoward 15 years, and Disney has released a 1997 commercial featuring a game called Sugar Rush. Hit the jump to check it out.The video features footage from the film as well as what looks like video that was recorded in the late 90s. Again, it is a fun jab at those arcades we used to remember wasting quarters on. There are some hints at racing games like Mario Kart 64, so it’s not surprising to see that they are touting this as a 1997 commercial.Be sure to check back in the next few weeks for exclusive interviews with the cast and crew of Wreck-It Ralph.
