Trailers Weekly: “6 Souls”, “The Call”, “Spring Breakers”, “Peeples”, & “Kon-Tiki” Michael Lee, February 23, 2013 Trailers Weekly is a feature in which we bring you the most popular and talked about trailers of the week. Sharing trailers is a classic viral practice, and trailers are still the most mainstream way for people to learn about movies. This week we have trailers for 6 Souls, The Call, Spring Breakers, Peeples, and Kon-Tiki. Hit the jump to see them all.6 Souls We can all judge a movie by its trailer, but distributors know in advance whether or not a film will be worthy enough for a wide audience. Such as that with 6 Souls starring Julianne Moore and Johnathan Rhys Myers. The film was released in the UK back in 2010, but it’s finally making it’s way to the states for a limited release on April 5th. Myers plays a man suffering from multiple personalities disorder but Moore’s character discovers that these personalities are actually murder victims. The Call This Halle Berry starring vehicle features the actress playing a 911 operator who receives a call like no other. A kidnapping in progress. But this operator has some baggage that involves a murder she could have prevented. So will her past come back to haunt her. Abigal Breslin also stars. The Call opens in theaters on March 15.The Call – Trailer No. 2 (Moviefone Exclusive)Spring Breakers The third Spring Breakers trailer has arrived. It’s pretty much the same college partying, crime committing, sex romping good-time kind of trailer we’ve seen in the past. Oh it also helps that it’s a red band trailer. The film stars James Franco, Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson or Rachel Korine. Peeples Think of Peeples as Tyler Perry’s version of Meet the Parents. Craig Robinson leads this comedy about a man who meets his significant other’s parents. There’s definitely a demographic for this kind of film, but I’m not in it. The film opens in theaters on May 10.Peeples – Trailer No. 1Kon-Tiki Here is a trailer for Oscar Nominated Norwegian Survival Epic Kon-Tiki. This is more than just a man’s journey across the pacific on a wooden raft, and the aquatic critter encounters and storms he experiences along the way. The film opens in theaters on April 19th.
