The Buzz: Iron Man 3, X-Men, Man of Steel, and More! Dan Koelsch, April 27, 2013 The Buzz is a feature in which we round up the Top 3 most-buzzed-about movie/TV stories of the week (in more-or-less chronological order). Why go through pages of blogs just to find out what everyone is talking about? We’ve got it all right here in The Buzz. 1) Iron Man and More With Iron Man 3 already out in theaters in many international markets and opening next Friday here in the States, it’s understandable that some of the more popular news this week is surrounds Tony Stark. The controversial week for Iron Man started with major theatre chains including AMC and Cinemark holding off on pre-sales of Iron Man 3 tickets until Disney renegotiated their long-standing box-office revenue split. The hostage situation worked, as Disney settled the dispute later in the week. Just days after Robert Downey Jr. discussed when his run as Stark would end, Gwyneth Paltrow said in an interview that she doesn’t think there will be another Iron Man movie. In other Marvel Cinematic Universe news, Lee Pace is in talks to play an unknown villain in Guardians of the Galaxy, Kevin Feige confirmed that the rights to Daredevil are back with Marvel Studios, and we even got word of how Coulson will come back to life for the S.H.I.E.L.D. television show.2) X-Men: Days of Future PastThanks to director Bryan Singer’s Twitter feed, everyone gets an inside look at X-Men: Days of Future Past as they film the comic book sequel. This week, Singer posted a Vine video with several cast member chairs that included the character names Bishop and Warpath, thus confirming their inclusion for the first time. It’s suspected that Omar Sy and Booboo Stewart will be the playing the roles, respectively. Also, Fan Bingbing will be playing the teleporting mutant Blink. We also got our first look at Halle Berry’s return as Storm. This time, she is rocking the short cut.3) Zack Snyder Could Direct Justice League Movie Comic book movies smothered this week, and DC wasn’t going to be left out. Thanks to a cover story in Empire, we got even more info on the new Superman film, Man of Steel. More importantly, as JoBlo reports, Empire claims that Warner Bros. will have director Zack Snyder helm the Justice League movie if Man of Steel does well. That news has been rumored before, and it’s not surprising since Warner Bros. really wants to get started creating their DC Cinematic Universe as Marvel has successfully done. Man of Steel writer David Goyer is supposedly working on the Justice League script, but he was very coy in his Reddit AMA on Friday regarding anything Justice League.
