Trailers Weekly Comic-Con 2013 Special: “Kick-Ass 2”, “Riddick”, “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire”, “Gravity”, “Snowpiercer” Michael Lee, July 27, 2013 And we’re back! After taking a small week off to give you guys some Comic-Con exclusives, some of which will appear next week, Trailers Weekly is back! Trailers Weekly is a feature in which we bring you the most popular and talked about trailers of the week. Sharing trailers is a classic viral practice, and trailers are still the most mainstream way for people to learn about movies. We’ve got trailers from Kick-Ass 2, Riddick, The Hunger Games, Gravity, and Snowpiercer. Hit the jump for more!Kick-Ass 2 A new bloodier and more vulgar red-band trailer for Kick-Ass 2 premiered at Comic-Con last week. The film follows Dave (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) and Mindy (Chole Grace-Moretez) as they try to live out normal lives while fighitng crime. But a familiar face is going to take the criminal underworld by storm, and its up to the two and some new heroes to stop him. Kick-Ass 2 opens in theaters August 16. Riddick Another restricted trailer to come out from Comic-Con courtesy of Universal. Vin Disel returns to reprise his role as the titular character who has been banished to a desolate planet. Upon activating an emergency beacon, Riddick comes across dangerous bounty hunters who want to claim their prize. But that’s not the only thing that Riddick will have to deal with. Riddick opens in theaters September 6. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire The following up to the widely successful The Hunger Games, Jennifer Lawrence returns to reprise her role as Katniss. The Capitol must now deal with uprisings after Katniss unwittingly sparks a small reovlution after she tried to sacrifice herself during the Games. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire opens in theaters November 22. Gravity Alfronso Cuaron’s amazing space drama, Gravity, will feature Sandra Bullock and George Clooney desperately trying to survive in the blackness of space as their shuttle is nearly destroyed by an oncoming satellite. There will be very cool one-shot takes and other wild surprises to come when this movie opens in theaters on October 4. Snowpiercer Bong Joon-ho’s adaptation of a french comic book centers on a world covered in snow after an experiment to stop global warmed fails. Survivors board a train where social classes are represented by cars, the further back you are, the lower the class. Those in the back revolt to get to the front. Chris Evans, Tilda Swinton, and Octavia Spencer star. Snowpiercer has yet to receive a release date. What did you think of this week’s trailers? Which was your favorite?
