D23 Expo 2013: “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” Reveals Political Corruption, Patriotic Inflirtation, And The Return Of Bucky Michael Lee, August 10, 2013August 10, 2013 Though Captain America: The Winter Soldier is still eight months away, Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie, and Sebastian Stan were on hand to talk about the film with Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige. Evans talked about how in this film, he won’t be the guy from the past who is trying to adapt into the modern world. In the few short and unfinished clips that were revealed, we learned that Steve has acclimated himself into the modern world and even has a few witty comebacks to anyone who tries to make fun of him for it. But it isn’t all fun and games for the hero, there is corruption brewing in Washington, and we learn that it is up to him to find out what is going on.As Cap begins into infiltrate a cargo ship, he jumps ahead of his team without a parachute. As he stealthily climbs aboard the ship, he takes out the first guard like a black ops agent, and proceeds to bring down the ship’s security team with his trusty shield bouncing off the walls of the ship, which boomerang back to him.But one interesting clip that revealed a little bit about the plot of the film, was a conversation between Cap and Robert Redford’s character. Redford says that for a new world to begin, the old one he knew would have to come down.At the end of the sizzle reel, we get to see the Winter Soldier, cybernetic arm with a villain like black eye make up pick up Cap’s shield with destruction and mayhem in the background.
