“Inception” Fans Dream Up Film Inspired Board Game Michael Lee, March 1, 2014 Kickstarter and IndieGoGo film inspired projects are pretty cool for a handful of reasons. Some do it for the passion, others to commemorate their film idols, then there are those who get creative and go beyond the film and create fun games like Bruno Gervasi and Reid Cuddy. The two have created a board game inspired by the Christopher Nolan film Inception. Called Inceptor, players act as the dream infiltrators, rolling the dice, and collecting cards that help or hurt their mission to manipulate their target. So if you want to find out how to get some of these game pieces, then you’ll have to hit the jump to see how you can get your hands on this one of a kind board game.WB Studios is not behind the Inception board game, however, they do not seem to have a problem with its creation or Kickstarter distribution. The project has already collected $47,000+, well passed the $30,000 target. And with 40 days left on the project, there are still plenty of incentives to go around, like an aluminum briefcase, five totems (game board pieces), the game itself, and more. Here is the inital pitch as posted on the official Kickstarter pageInceptor is a board game that takes place in the dream world. The board represents the inside of a dreamer’s mind, who is known as the Mark. Each player is trying to plant an idea in the Mark’s dream, hoping that when he wakes, he will carry out their chosen task. The key is to make your task seem achievable to the Mark and to make sure he believes it was his own idea from its inception. In order to do this the dream needs to be so real, that when the Mark wakes up, the planted idea sticks and he performs the mission without a second thought.Pretty cool huh? And just for $59 you can get the game as is. Of course getting the briefcase will complete the Inception fan in you. Viral Marketing InceptionInceptorKickstarter
