“Godzilla” Viral Campaign Gives Social Media The Extended Look Michael Lee, April 7, 2014April 7, 2014 The Godzilla viral marketing campaign took to Facebook and Twitter to get users to demand the truth about the monster just like Bryan Cranston does in the trailer, and they responded with one collective roar. The Legendary Pictures team in conjunction with Warner Bros. have released an extended look at the film, after a small social media campaign was launched earlier last week where the marketing teams asked social media to use the hashtag #demandtoknow to unlock the secrets of the King Of Monsters. Now they have given us the truth behind Godzilla, and to see what the truth is, you’ll have to hit the jump. We are nearing the film’s release, which could mean there could be more updates to the film’s viral marketing campaign. So far the only viral site the film has is the MutoResearch website that was launched last year. Since then the site has only seen character updates in the form of surveillance footage. But as the release draws closer, more secrets are revealed. So it’s quite possible that we could see an update in the film’s viral marketing campaign in the near future. An epic rebirth to Toho’s iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure, from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures, pits the world’s most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence. Gareth Edwards directs “Godzilla,” which stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson (“Kick-Ass”), Oscar® nominee Ken Watanabe (“The Last Samurai,” “Inception”), Elizabeth Olsen (“Martha Marcy May Marlene”), Oscar® winner Juliette Binoche (“The English Patient,” “Cosmopolis”), and Sally Hawkins (“Blue Jasmine”), with Oscar® nominee David Strathairn (“Good Night, and Good Luck.,” “The Bourne Legacy”) and Bryan Cranston (“Argo,” TV’s “Breaking Bad”).
