“Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes” Clip: This Ape Isn’t Here To Entertain You Michael Lee, June 20, 2014 We’ve been following the marketing for Matt Reeves‘ Dawn of the Planet of the Apes for a while now, and with three trailers already released, plus some very cool extras, Fox has turned up the marketing machine by releasing the first clip from the film. We’ll try not to get into spoiler territory with what you are about to see, but the headline should explain it all to you. And if you want to go into the film with a fresh set of eyes, then it’s best that you don’t watch it. Still if you have seen all three trailers, then it may not be a spoilerly as you think. Hit the jump to see the first clip from Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Just who the villain is has been one of the biggest subjects of the film. Is it the apes? Is the it humans? We don’t quite know who it is, and that is how Reeves directed it based on the script written by Mark Bomback and Rich Jaffa & Amanda Silver. Although, based on the clip you just watched, it would seem that at least one of them is antagonizing the opposing faction. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes stars Andy Serkis, Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell, Kodi Smith-McPhee, Enrique Murciano, and Kirk Acevedo. The film opens in theaters on July 11. A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.
