TrailersWeekly

Trailers Weekly is a feature in which we bring you the most popular and talked about trailers of the week. Sharing trailers is a classic viral practice, and trailers are still the most mainstream way for people to learn about movies. We’ve got trailers from Left Behind, The Theory Of Everything, The Book Of Life, The Boxtrolls, and The Guest. Hit the jump to see them all.

Left Behind
The second trailer to the new Left Behind series. In the film, Nic Cage plays a pilot who fails to make the cut for the Rapture. Now he, and those who did not make the cut as well must cope with the fact that they have been Left Behind. Directed by Vic Armstrong, Left Behind opens October 3.

The Theory Of Everything
Starring Eddie Redmayne (Les Misérables) and Felicity Jones (The Amazing Spider-Man 2), this is the extraordinary story of one of the world’s greatest living minds, the renowned astrophysicist Stephen Hawking, who falls deeply in love with fellow Cambridge student Jane Wilde. Once a healthy, active young man, Hawking received an earth-shattering diagnosis at 21 years of age. With Jane fighting tirelessly by his side, Stephen embarks on his most ambitious scientific work, studying the very thing he now has precious little of – time. Together, they defy impossible odds, breaking new ground in medicine and science, and achieving more than they could ever have dreamed.

The Guest
A recently discharged soldier coming back home to a family of a fallen comrade, isn’t who he seems. As soon as more is revealed, the family comes to realize that their new guest has done some pretty horrible things. The film debuted over at Sundance, and opened in theaters on September 17.

Book of Life
From producer Guillermo del Toro and director Jorge Gutierrez comes an animated comedy with a unique visual style. The Book Of Life is the journey of Manolo, a young man who is torn between fulfilling the expectations of his family and following his heart. Before choosing which path to follow, he embarks on an incredible adventure that spans three fantastical worlds where he must face his greatest fears. Rich with a fresh take on pop music favorites, The Book Of Life encourages us to celebrate the past while looking forward to the future.

The Boxtrolls
LAIKA’s third film is The Boxtrolls, based on Alan Snow’s bestselling novel Here Be Monsters. Introducing audiences to a new breed of family – The Boxtrolls, a community of quirky, mischievous creatures who have lovingly raised an orphaned human boy named Eggs (voiced by Isaac Hempstead-Wright) in the amazing cavernous home they’ve built beneath the streets of Cheesebridge. When the town’s villain, Archibald Snatcher (Academy Award® winner Ben Kingsley), comes up with a plot to get rid of the Boxtrolls, Eggs decides to venture above ground, “into the light,” where he meets and teams up with fabulously feisty Winnie (Elle Fanning). Together, these soft-boiled detectives uncover the hidden connections in Eggs’ past and devise a daring plan to save his unique family.
