‘Better Call Saul’ Music Video Gives ‘Breaking Bad’ Fans A Catchy New Tune Michael Lee, October 6, 2014October 6, 2014 AMC has been showing very brief glimpses of Better Call Saul, their Breaking Bad spinoff, through very tiny teasers. The series is currently under development, and set to debut in February of next year. But AMC’s latest move may be it’s biggest promotion for the series. The cable channel has been doing reruns of the Emmy Award Winning series as of late just for those who have not seen the series, caught up with it yet, or just want to reexperience watching Breaking Bad once more. During commercial breaks AMC would air special segments about their show, and decided that yesterday was the perfect time to air the first music video for Better Call Saul. Hit the jump to check it out.The original song is performed by Junior Brown with lyrics written by show creators Vince Gilligan and Peter Gould. The music video is fun all on its own, but just to make it a bit more entertaining, there is new footage in the video. Of course the lyrics could be foreshadowing of things to come for the series.Better Call Saul stars Bob Odenkirk, with Jonathan Banks also returning to reprise his respective role. Michael McKean joins as a newcomer to the Breaking Bad universe. The series is set six years before Saul Goodman meets Walter White. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and, often, against Jimmy, is “fixer” Mike Ehrmantraut, a beloved character introduced in ‘Breaking Bad.’ The series will track Jimmy’s transformation into Saul Goodman, the man who puts “criminal” in “Criminal lawyer.” The series’ tone is dramatic, woven with dark humor.
