Scarface School Play Viral Video is a Fake Dan Koelsch, March 30, 2010 You may have noticed a video floating around the Internet (especially on Funny or Die and YouTube) since yesterday that features an elementary school play version of the 1983 classic Scarface. While it’s being passed off as real, there are now reports that the video is in fact fake. Find out the details after the break. TMZ is reporting that the staged clip was made by Rockhard Films, a production company that makes mostly commercials and music videos for the likes of Lady Gaga and Adam Lambert. It was directed by Marc Klasfeld. Here’s more from TMZ:It was produced in L.A. within the last few weeks and the audience members were a mix of cast family members, colleagues and friends. As for Lil’ Tony and his co-stars, they were selected through a casting agent known for finding child actor look-alikes for adult stars. The Rockhard team even set up a fake YouTube account for a woman who’s child Jaydon goes to Barton Elementary (in Bartonville, IL). It’s on this account that the video is posted, so that’s obviously the school where the play takes place. The video has caused some controversy in the Bartonville school district, though Barton Elementary hasn’t even staged a play this year, so the hoax should have been more obvious to locals. Check out the video for yourself below. The purpose of the video is unknown, but based on it’s viral popularity, it may have been created just to promote the Rockhard Films.
