100 Greatest Viral YouTube Moments in 4 Minutes Alex Gerage, April 9, 2010April 9, 2010 Liquid Generation has posted a video of the “100 Greatest Hits of YouTube in Four Minutes.” Think of it as a greatest hits montage of viral videos. Yeah, I figured you would want to see it. Check out the video after the jump. Since its inception in 2005, YouTube has hosted some of the funniest and most outrageous video content on the internet. Liquid Generation has done us the service of compiling the most viewed clips into a montage. The usual suspects are all there. From “Star Wars Kid” to “Dramatic Squirrel” to Rick Astley, you will find dozens of memorable clips that have been become online memes, and in some cases, cultural sensations. The video itself is also really well edited, grouping together triumphs and failures in ways that make the images even more hilarious. What surprised me most about the video as a whole was just how many individual clips I recognized. I visit FailBlog on occasion like everyone else, but most of these videos have found me, not the other way around. I think it speaks to the ability of viral content to reach just about anyone online, even when they aren’t looking for it. Hopefully this trend continues to build in Hollywood, and film studios produce more viral campaigns to accompany their new releases to increase buzz and awareness. How many videos do you recognize? Do you feel any were left out? Let us know below. Viral Marketing Viral videoViral VideosYouTube
