Internet News: MTV’s First Twitter Jockey, “Dwaynebook” Pilot Ordered, and Netflix/Epix Deal Dan Koelsch, August 10, 2010 MTV has named it’s first “Twitter Jockey,” Comedy Central has ordered a pilot for “Dwaynebook,” and Netflix has stuck a deal with Epix; all of these are headlines in today’s Internet News roundup.MTV finished it’s search for a new Twitter “face” of the TV network, naming Gabi Gregg the first Twitter Jockey. In addition to taking over the MTVTJ Twitter account, Gabi is on a $100,000 dollar salary and moving to New York where she’ll be coving events and working for MTV. The video below shows her winning this dream job.MTV ShowsIn other news, Comedy Central has ordered the pilot episode for “Dwayneworld,” a faux-news/sketch TV show that would focus on social networking. It’ll star Dwayne Perkins, a comedian, and tt would include correspondents like those on The Daily Show, but with a slight twist. Only the pilot has been ordered, so it’s unknown if this will ever make it to the air.Finally, Netflix has struck a deal with Epix to bring Paramount, MGM, and Lionsgate films to the “Instantly Watch” service. The films wont be availible until 90-days after the release to DVD and BluRay, however it’ll greatly improve Netflix’s instant streaming content, which has been mediocre at best.
