Download Five Tracks From “The Social Network” Soundtrack For Free Dan Koelsch, September 18, 2010September 18, 2010 One of the more interesting components of the Facebook exposé The Social Network is its soundtrack. It was revealed back in July that Trent Reznor, the founder and lead singer for Nine Inch Nails, would be providing the score for the film. This is the first theatrical release Reznor has ever composed, so even non-NIN fans have been intrigued by what he will do. While the full soundtrack won’t be released until September 28th, there is a way to hear part of it now. Details after the break. The indie label The Null Corporation was founded by Reznor (and thus releases all NIN albums), so it’s no surprise that they are behind The Social Network soundtrakc. Right now you can go to their website and download five of the songs from the film, as well as pre-order a few different versions of the soundtrack. Read what Reznor had to say about this great deal below. This is what Atticus and I have been working on for the last few months. We had a great time working with David Fincher on this and the film turned out excellent – something we’re very proud of. It opens in theatres Oct 1 and you should check it out.Musically, this all came out of our secret laboratory – electronic in basis, but mostly organic sounding. Lots of experiments and emphasis on sound fraying around the edges while focusing on the proper emotional tone for the various scenes.Regarding the purchase options, sorry about the “clunkiness” of not offering the full record digital download pre-sale (and having to visit Amazon). My agenda was to be able to offer this for the lowest possible price and this was the best way to achieve that. Amazon has been a great partner with past projects and I appreciate your understanding.– Trent Reznor, 9.16.10 Let us know what you think of the score so far!
