Cookie Monster Campaigns to Host Saturday Night Live Dan Koelsch, November 24, 2010 After a social network campaign successfully got Betty White a hosting gig on NBC’s Saturday Night Live, it’s no surprise that a trend has caught on to get obscure actors to host SNL. But, what about characters? Sesame Street continues their trend of cultural-savvy videos with an audition tape of sorts from Cookie Monster, who wants to follow in Betty White’s footsteps as an unconventional SNL host. Check out the video after the break. Sesame Street has also created a Facebook Fan Page for the campaign, and this wouldn’t be the first time puppets would be on the show.
