CBS and ABC Shows Have the Most Viral Potential Michael Lee, May 24, 2011May 24, 2011 Earlier this week our very own Caleb Hamilton came out with what he thought had the best viral potential from FOX and NBC. Now I give you what I think has the best viral potential from CBS and ABC. There are a few shows that do have viral potential, heck CBS even has some. So hit the jump to find out how much viral potential these shows have. CBS may have a lot of those hipster pop culture heavy comedies and insert city CSI shows, but the out of those and the new shows debuting in their fall line up, Persons of Interest has the best viral potential. First here is the premise of the show, PERSON OF INTEREST stars Jim Caviezel, Emmy Award winner Michael Emerson and Academy Award nominee Taraji P. Henson in a crime thriller about a presumed dead former-CIA agent who teams up with a mysterious billionaire to prevent violent crimes by using their own brand of vigilante justice. Reese’s (Caviezel) special training in covert operations appeals to Finch (Emerson), a software genius who invented a program that uses pattern recognition to identify people about to be involved in violent crimes.Using state-of-the-art surveillance technology, the two work outside of the law using Reese’s adept skills and Finch’s unlimited wealth to unravel the mystery of the person of interest and stop the crime before it happens. Reese’s actions catch the attention of the NYPD, including homicide detective Carter (Henson), and Fusco (Kevin Chapman), a cop who Reese uses to his advantage. With infinite crimes to investigate, Reese and Finch find that the right person, with the right information, at the right time, can change everything. Emmy Award winners J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk (“Lost”), Academy Award nominee Jonathan Nolan (“Memento”), David Semel (“Heroes”) and Greg Plageman (“Cold Case”) are the executive producers for Warner Bros. Television.Out of CBS’ entire fall 2011 line up, Persons of Interest has the best viral potential There is so much that CBS can do with this, that if they don’t do anything it wouldn’t necessarily hurt the show but it would just be a bit of a disappointment that they didn’t do anything.ABC has had some hits and misses with ARG in the past. The LOST ARG never panned out as they planned or it never lived up to its potential. But the network will get another chance to redeem themselves with a couple of new shows.Charlies’ Angels. Three beautiful but troubled women, a former Miami police officer, a mysterious street racer and a well-to-do thief, are given a chance at redemption when they are recruited by an anonymous millionaire named Charlie Townsend to solve crimes. The possibility of a viral is there. But just because there is a possibility of it being there it doesn’t mean that ABC will act upon it. But then again if the show is a hit, ABC could create a few websites that promote the series. So what do you think? Am I wrong? Which shows do you believe has the best viral potential? But when you compare the new fall line up of CBS and ABC to that of NBC and FOX, the latter has much more potential.
