JK Rowling Announces A Harry Potter “Unique Online Reading Experience” Dan Koelsch, June 23, 2011 The time is finally here. JK Rowling has announced what her Pottermore project is, and it may not be what you expect. She describes it as a “unique online reading experience” that presents the same story of Harry Potter, but with a twist. Watch the announcement after the break. As you can see, Rowling is a bit vague on exactly how this interactive adventure how it will work, but we do know that participating in it will give you more insight into the world of Harry Potter thanks to Rowling providing information she has kept back. The “experience” starts in October, but the website says to come back on July 31st to learn how you can be one of the select few to join in early. Rowling gives the clue to “follow the owl”, which might relate to the owl featured on the Pottermore website. We’ll provide an update when we know more.Until then, we recommend that you sign up for Pottermore and look around. Check out Mashable for some pictures of the website, which we now know Rowling created in partnership with Sony. Tell us what you think of Pottermore now that we (kind of) know what it is!
