Trailers Weekly: “Dark Knight Rises,” “Wrath of the Titans,” “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey,” “Goon,” and “Prometheus” Michael Lee, December 24, 2011December 28, 2012 Trailers Weekly is a feature in which we bring you the most popular and talked about trailers of the week. Sharing trailers is a classic viral practice, and trailers are still the most mainstream way for people to learn about movies. This week we saw trailers for The Dark Knight Rises, Wrath of the Titans, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, Goon, and Prometheus. Hit the jump to see them all.The Dark Knight Rises Fans love the new Batwing and the football stadium collapsing scene in the trailer, bloggers have mixed reactions. All agree that Bane is still very difficult to hear and that Catwoman is fighting for the 99%.Wrath of the Titans A darker look at the Greek gods, but still possesses the same cheesyness as its predecessor. Actors return to play their respective characters but this time Battle: LA director helms the sequel. But as for the Sweet Dreams song by Marilyn Manson, why is it playing in the background at all?The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey In many ways its the prefect first trailer! It introduced us to were it all left off, and for fans who are unfamiliar with the J.R.R. Tolkien novels, it will be the beginning of an unexpected journey. Honestly it doesn’t feel like Christmas without a Peter Jackson adaptation of Tolkien work.Goon Pretty much plays off the same way the previous Goon trailer did, except this is a more tamer version. Still its a hockey comedy nonetheless, and it has me very interested in the film.Prometheus Ridley Scott’s return to a genre he redefined isn’t me repeating what others are saying. He is doing just that. The trailer plays the same way the very first Alien trailer did when it was released in 1979. The shrieks, the howls, the fear, everything about it, just with strands of Alien DNA.What did you think of this week’s trailers? Which was your favorite? Do you agree with the Internet buzz?
