The Buzz: The Avengers, Blade Runner Sequel, and Posters

Buzz

The Buzz is a feature in which we round up the Top 3 most-buzzed-about movie/TV stories of the week (in chronological order). Why go through pages of blogs just to find out what everyone is talking about? We’ve got it all right here.

1) Avengers News Round-Up

The Avengers crossed the $400 million domestic mark in record time, so of course there’s plenty of news this week about the megabit. Marvel chief Kevin Feige talked about sequel plans for the film, and he teased two unannounced projects. While director Joss Whedon isn’t confirmed for any of the sequels, he would like to see more females join the superhero group. Iron Man 3 will have the Marvel comics character Coldblood, and the role has been cast. Despite rumors of a movie, Hulk will still have a TV show next year. And the stupid war on The Avengers’ “adopted” line goes mainstream.

2) Blade Runner Sequel Gets a Writer

We’ve known since last year that director Ridley Scott was planning to return to the world of Blade Runner, but what has been unclear is whether it would be a sequel, prequel, or something like Prometheus is to Alien. Thanks to a press release, we know that the film will be a sequel to Blade Runner, taking place “some years after the first film concluded.” Original writer Hampton Fancher is also on board, though none of the characters will return. In fact, Scott teased the idea that there might be a female protagonist this time around. Either way, fans are definitely excited to see Scott go back to this universe.

3) Posters for Anchorman 2, Prometheus, and Skyfall

There weren’t any other stories that really stood out to me this week as “buzzworthy”, so below are the new posters for Anchorman: The Legend Continues, Prometheus, and Skyfall that have got people talking. Which do you like best?
