TV & Movie Apps: Fox’s “Own the Moments”, Reading Rainbow, and Cartoon Network Dan Koelsch, June 23, 2012June 23, 2012 A few movie mobile apps have been released lately, so I wanted to spotlight them all here in one post. Fox Digital Entertainment released an app called “Own the Moments”, LeVar Burton final brings the world a Reading Rainbow iPad app, and Cartoon Network will start having a live TV feed on its app. Get the details after the jump. Fox Digital Entertainment’s Own The Moments for iPhone, iPod, and iPad is a free app that gives you a daily clip from a movie that Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment offers on DVD and/or Blu-Ray, along with a piece of trivia about the movie. I’m not sure why it’d be worth downloading, even for the average movie lover, but at least it’s free. Also available for Android.Reading Rainbow may have been cancelled six years ago, but now it is back as an iPad app. The PBS television show that encouraged kids to read will now be available through LeVar Burton’s RRKidz company. The app allows kids to watch kids and check out books, and while the app itself is free, a $10 monthly subscription is needed to read the books.Cartoon Network has updated their free iOS app to include live television streaming. You can also watch more full episodes on demand, even the day after they air. You also get access to full episodes for a longer period of time.If you try these apps, let us know what you think!
