Fan Film Bridges the Gap Between “The Dark Knight” and “The Dark Knight Rises” Caleb Hamilton, August 10, 2012August 19, 2012 A couple months ago, we featured a Kickstarter project called Batman: Puppet Master, a fan film inspired by Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy. The film introduces new versions of classic Batman villains in a way that Nolan might’ve if they were used in his films. This project also serves as a bit of a sequel to The Dark Knight and prequel to The Dark Knight Rises, taking place during the 8-year gap between the events of the two films. Check it out after the jump. When we featured this project back in June, they had only raised just over $1000. They needed a total of $8000 or else the project wouldn’t get funded. Unfortunately, they weren’t able to reach their goal, only raising a total of $1,300. However, they managed to finish the film and we have it for you below.Gotham City is on the hunt for Batman, after taking the fall for Harvey Dent’s crimes and his murder, in order to protect Harvey’s reputation as Gotham’s “White Knight”. A rogue FBI agent, Edward Nigma, is brought in to try to capture Batman, but that’s not all he wants to do. “How do you bring the Dark Knight out into the light?” Find out in Batman: Puppet Master.I liked this short film, however I didn’t feel like the story was resolved. Could we be in for a follow up? What did you think of Puppet Master? Let us know in the comments!
