Trailers Weekly: “The Master”, “Chinese Zodiac”, “The To Do List”, “The Company You Keep” & “Seven Psychopaths” Michael Lee, September 1, 2012December 27, 2012 Trailers Weekly is a feature in which we bring you the most popular and talked about trailers of the week. Sharing trailers is a classic viral practice, and trailers are still the most mainstream way for people to learn about movies. This week provided us with so many trailers, so of course we will include our favorite ones this week, which includes The Master, Chinese Zodiac, The To Do List, The Company You Keep, and Seven Psychopaths. Hit the jump for more. The Master Before we all get riled up about Paul Thomas Anderson‘s long-awaited feature, we have one more trailer for The Master. We’ve already seen some very incredible footage from the film, and now, we get to see additional footage that we’ve never seen before. The Master opens in theaters on September 14th. Chinese Zodiac Jackie Chan made the announcement that he was not retiring from action films. That’s right the aging actor who made it necessary for other actors to do their own stunts is back, and he is doing some very exciting things. Granted the trailer shows that it isn’t 100% him, i still like that he is writing, directing, and choreographing all the stunts, even though choreographing is his best quality. The film has no release date. The To Do List Aubrey Plaza has a sharp witty sense of humor that’s perfect for any sort of comedy. She rarely gets to appear in a lead role, but when she does, she shines. Following her lead role in Safety Not Guaranteed, Plaza stars in The To Do List, a film about an A-type personality high school senior who wants to go through various risque acts before she sets off to college. The film will be released on the appropriate date of February 14th. The Company You Keep Shia LaBeouf has really grown as an actor. Stepping away from those big budget blockbusters, Labeouf has turned his attention to smaller indies or more mature quality films. In the Robert Redford-directed The Company You Keep, LaBeouf plays as a journalist, who can save his job by finding a good story, he then stumbles onto a government conspiracy that threatens him and the very people he thinks he is saving. Seven Psychopaths Martin McDonaghs’s latest comedy finds Colin Farrell caught up in a dog kidnapping scheme that involves his his two friends who kidnapped the dog, his girlfriend, an emotionally unstable mobster who is missing his dog, a Lenny like outsider, and a Bond girl. Seven Psychopaths opens in theaters on October 12th. What did you think of this week’s trailers? Which was your favorite? Do you agree with the Internet buzz?
