Sherlock Holmes: To know, to dare, to will, to keep silence… Nick Butler, August 21, 2009June 6, 2010 Yesterday on twitter @wbpictures posted a link to a Sherlock Holmes related viral website. The website displayed a video after typing in the password IRENE, which is the name of one of the characters. Evidently the words spoken are a direct quote from a book by Éliphas Lévi called Transcendental Magic: Its Doctrine and Ritual.Four specific words, to Know, to Will, to Dare and to Keep Silent are also known as the Four Powers of the Sphinx as well as the Witch’s Pyramid. Apparently, when one tries to become a witch they work towards achieving these strengths, hence “the Witch’s Pyramid.”So it looks as if this viral is mending together Sherlock Holmes as well as witch craft, or something of the sort. I’m quite suprised at the depth this viral has gone so quickly. And, apperently Warner Bros. attempted to launch this at Comic Con, but failed to.thebruce from Unfiction (and wikibruce.com) picked these up (below) at a WB booth in San Diego, but didn’t even think to look twice at them. When put together, the numbers above the words create an IP address, the same one Warner Bros. tweeted yesterday. We’ll be following this viral campaign closely and see how it develops from here on out.A big thanks to the Unfiction forums for figuring all this out. Now, the site is back with a new game called Hero’s Flight, which just changes the perspective, but has a similar concept. Take control of Superman, and fly through the city,… Read More
Piranha 3D Footage Needs To Be Taken Down July 31, 2010September 3, 2010You would think that a title like that would proclaim my love for new footage and excitement, and how bootlegged footage like the one from Thor, or the phony tracks from Tron: Legacy should have no place in this world. One can also look at that statement to remove the… Read More
You’re welcome by the way for the info about Transcendental Magic. You could have at least mentioned that you got that information from my website instead of pretending like you figured it out.
What? I source all of my articles appropriately, because I hate it when people don’t source me. I’ve honestly never seen your website, I got all of my information from Unfiction. It’s the last post on this page: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=28307&start=15If he got it from you, and didn’t source you, then it’s not really my fault.
I’m surprised that WB couldn’t make this work from Comic-Con directly. They had to nudge it themselves lol.
You’re right, I apologize and no they did not give a reference. The new movie is not based on any of the books, it’s based on a comic “Sherlock Holmes Vol 2” The Return of the Devil. The four words of the magus are Air, Earth, Fire, and Water. You can find out more of what I have discovered at http://www.sherlockholmesviral.com
After further research I’ve discovered that the movie is not based on the comic, it has a few similarities but not close enough to be based on the comic.
