‘Sherlock’ Mini-Episode ‘Many Happy Returns’ Prepares Fans for the New Year Binyamin Wallin, December 24, 2013 It’s been almost two years since the last episode of BBC Drama, Sherlock, and the excitement is reaching a fevered pitch. The show’s return for three more episodes is highly anticipated by fans, and they probably thought that they wouldn’t be seeing anything of the show (besides a couple of trailers) until the release in January. The BBC must not have felt that it was enough, since they decided to give the fans a holiday present.Hit the jump to read more, but SPOILER ALERT! The BBC recently released a prequel to Sherlock Series Three on their YouTube page. The episode takes place between the end of Series Two, after “The Reichenbach Falls” and before “The Empty Hearse”, the first episode of Series Three. By now, Sherlock is presumed dead by all of his friends and family, and it’s been two years since he’s faked his death. The mini-episode stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes, Martin Freeman as John Watson, Rupert Graves as DI Greg Lestrade, and Jonathan Aris as Anderson. The prequel’s release follows the release of an interactive trailer (which you can find here), and likewise is filled with hints at what we can expect from the coming season. Sherlock is alive, active, and solving crimes, and like Anderson said, “he’s coming back”. Fans have waited nearly two years for a new episode, so this should tide them over until the season three premiere. “Sherlock” is a British Television Drama, starring Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman as John Watson. It is a 21st century remake of the classic “Sherlock Holmes” stories written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The show is executive produced by Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss (who also plays Sherlock’s brother, Mycroft). Series Three airs its first episode on BBC One in The UK on January 1st, while the US premiere is January 18th. Viral Marketing Viral Videos BBCSherlockViral Videosweb serieswebisodes
