UK Viral Campaign Launched For Supernatural Dan Koelsch, January 14, 2010January 14, 2010 The United States can’t have all the fun when it comes to ARG and viral campaigns, so I’m sure it will please our contributor Iain that the show Supernatural will have an ARG in the United Kingdom. The UK TV station LIVING is debuting season 5 of the show (produced for the CW here in the states) pretty soon, so they have kicked off an interactive campaign that looks mostly aimed at current fans. The winner actually gets a chance to appear on the show. The ARG, called “Fight of the Apocalypse” will be based around the website titled Lucifer Is Coming, and your goal is to help the main characters of the show defeat Lucifer himself. You can find out more details about the game on SciFiHeaven.net, though here’s a little blurb to get you an overview:The ARG is based around collecting hidden symbols – ‘Enochian Sigils’ – which players must locate, photograph and send via MMS to a shortcode,. One of the first truly cross-platform campaigns of its type, the ARG utilises online, mobile, print and real world elements. It sounds like fun, though I am not a fan of the show myself. The ARG also has its own Twitter account, where you can follow developments of the game. It all starts on January 20th, but you can pre-register for the game now on the site. Supernatural is a drama/horror television series starring Jared Padalecki as Sam Winchester and Jensen Ackles as Dean Winchester, brothers who hunt demons and other figures of the paranormal.
