This Week In Viral: Stand-In Writer Edition

Ian DeVere, April 26, 2009March 27, 2010

Hello everyone. I’m Ian, one of the writers for the site, and I’m filling in for Dan on this week’s “This Week in Viral”. Read all the news after the jump.

Star Trek – Paramount has released 15 new photos from the film. Check them out here. Along with this, they have released 4 new clips from the movie, which can be seen here.

Terminator Salvation – The Resistance Strikes Back! This new link popped up, and thanks to David for the link. To go along with it, this video is now available.

Along with this, Arnold Schwarzenegger has approved a ‘virtual’ version of himself for Terminator Salvation.

District 9 – Thanks to firstshowing , we now have confirmation that a trailer for District 9 will appear in front of X-Men Origins: Wolverine this Friday, and will be available online this Thursday. Check back for that when it appears!

Surrogates – This isn’t a movie that we’ve been following too heavily, but it still has a very nice viral website available at http://chooseyoursurrogate.com. Along with this, Movieblog.ugo.com posted an interview with the author of the graphic novel that included this poster:

Update: The poster is for the comic, not the movie. Sorry for the confusion.

2012 – No Charlie Frost video this week, but we do have an interesting article on where the water comes from that we were shown in the teaser trailer. Check out the article here.

That’s it for this week’s TWIV. As always, our staff can only cover a fraction of the news, so to keep up-to-date, go to our Official Forum. Keep searching for viral, you never know where you’ll catch it.

    Hi,
That’s not a poster for the movie. It’s from the comic book series.
There were fake ads in the comic for the company Virtual Self.

Number one clue is that isn’t the logo Disney is using for the company.
    See the site. http://chooseyoursurrogate.com

    Hi Chris,

Thanks for the input. I haven’t read the comic so I can’t say for sure, but I can’t help but think that the man in the poster looks an awful lot like Bruce Willis…

I was looking around for this poster on other sites and came up empty. I was especially looking for it in terms of the comics, but still nothing. So, I can’t verify it either way.

Guy on the poster looks NOTHING like Bruce Willis

Maybe not the Bruce Willis we see today, but maybe the one from a few years ago. Maybe it’s just me.

the more I look at it, the more fan made it looks.

here is the logo they are using (from the novel)

The logo and the text on the poster is far from clean

I’m telling you guys It was scanned from the comic.
Do you want me to take a picture of it for you?

  10. Dan says:
    April 28, 2009 at 11:06 am

Sure. Like I said, I couldn’t find the poster anywhere except the movieblog.ugo.com site where we originally found it.

Chris, I’m not fighting you; as with Dan, I have no way of knowing.
