Prison Inmates Dance To MJ’s This Is It Anthony, January 26, 2010 Yahoo‘s blog Hip-Hop Media Training has a new article by Billy Johnson, Jr. about one of Michael Jackson’s former choreographers (Travis Payne) teaching 1,500 Filipino high security prison inmates (in 2 hours mind you!) a routine of “They Don’t Really Care About Us” from Jackson’s planned This Is It tour (and eventual movie). Check out the video after the jump. I think the video is pretty spectacular, especially since the article states that initially the inmates wanted nothing to to do with the opportunity. There must have been some serious tension prior, but somehow it really did all come together. The song itself is pretty powerful, but to have this rendition with an army like stomp to it really does make it pop. I think they did Michael proud. This isn’t a new idea either. You may remember the great Thriller viral video that’s been around for awhile. This video’s release is very timely, since today “This Is It” released today on DVD and Blu-Ray.
