Sony Brings “Heavy Rain” to the ARG World! Steve, January 30, 2010January 30, 2010 This week, Sony began a 3 week (12 days total, 4 per week) viral campaign for their newest PS3 exclusive, Heavy Rain. The game centers on the hunt for a mysterious serial killer called “The Oragami Killer”, as told through the eyes of 4 playable characters, each with their own personalites, jobs, and backstories. The campaign, called “Four Days”, has interested gamers register on the games’s website, HeavyRainPS3.com to begin their search. As of yesterday, people who’ve just registered or have previously done so received an email directing them to www.heavyrainps3.com/rainisfalling. Here, the first clue towards finding the true identity of the Origami Killer is the Twitter username “perfectfolds“. As of currently, all participants (me being one of them), are keeping an eye out for more clues and sites, especially from the afformentioned Twitter page. I’ll be reporting more news on this ARG as it develops! Until next time, this is Steve Kidd signing off! Viral Marketing Heavy RainPS3SonyVideo Game
