Tron Legacy: Encom Badges Arrive, New Site For Employees Nick Butler, March 17, 2010December 3, 2010 We reported a week ago that a new site viral site for Tron Legacy, ArcadeAid.com, allowed you to create an Encom International badge upon completion of a pretty fun-but-tough game. Today, participants have been receiving their badges and it’s lead us to a new website for Encom employees only. More on these badges and the new site after the jump. The badges look pretty cool, below is an image that Alex Billington from FirstShowing.net uploaded of his Encom badge. He explained how awesome the badges are saying:The badges themselves are pretty damn cool and include a nifty Encom hologram on the bottom and a QR code barcode in the upper right. At the bottom, my badge also has Group 7 Clearance written across the bottom, which is a nod to the original because that’s the same clearance that Flynn and Lora had in the first movie.Unfortunately, I still haven’t received my Encom badge (damn the East Coast), but luckily WikiBruce.com has a in-depth look into the Encom employee site, which you should check out here. The most important thing that can be taken from this website right now is the fact there will be an Encom International press conference in San Francisco in “less than three weeks.” It’s our guess (and Unfiction’s) that the conference will be taking place at WonderCon, which runs April 2-4 in San Francisco, CA.I’ll post pictures of my badge when it arrives in the next few days, and update this article with any more information that may break tonight. Thanks to Unfiction for their continued analysis and thanks to VanGohX for the heads up on this. Man this just keeps getting better. Shame the East Coast keep getting ghipped when it comes to viral like this.
I’m on the East Coast (WNY). I just got home from work and checked the mail and there it is. My ENCOM Level 7 badge is here. Yay for me! (I’m a dork, I know).
I got mine today as well. Pretty excited, now all I need is a FlynnLives T-shirt and I’m good for the midnight showing in December 😀
Lake Elsinore, CA here… about halfway between L.A. and San Diego. Got mine! Plan on wearing it to the supermarket and everywhere I go to pick up any potential Tron babes. (Cuz there’s nothing scarier than a 40 year-old guy wearing a Tron toy around their neck! 😉 I’ll just have to play it straight… “Oh yeah, ENCOM is Microsoft’s biggest competitor! We do all sorts of things like digitizing people into their computers, video games, blah-blah-blah!”)
