Salt: Day X Exists Last Mission, “Shoot Out”, Now Live Dan Koelsch, July 14, 2010 As we previously reported, Columbia Picture’s Salt, starring Angelina Jolie, has an interactive story you can participate in at their official website. Every week there is a new mission, and last week the supposed Day X members you killed were actually on the Agency’s Day X Task Force. This week, in the ninth and final mission, you’ll have to take things into your own hands. For those catching up, the premise of the game is that Evelyn Salt (Jolie), a government agent, is on the run for being suspected of being a sleeper agent. Part of the terrorist plot called “Day X” is the awakening of these sleepers. Salt is trying to clear her name, and needs your help to do so. In the pre-game video for this week’s mission, you learn that the Agency indeed knows that you are the shooter, and they are after you hard for being an accomplice to Salt. So, you go back to the Day X safe house to take everyone of the members out for good to prove your innocence. The game is a typical shooter and kind of fun. However, I have the feeling you will not like the ending presented in the debriefing video. After you’ve killed everyone, you follow Salt up to a control room, where you find the entire case on Day X laid out. However, your boss Larson takes credit for both infiltrating the safe house and capturing you. It’s unclear what will happen to you, or why Salt had you kill members of the task force. Hopefully it’ll be clearer once Day X hits on July 23rd. Don’t forget about the hidden codes for extra points! You should be able to figure each out from the mission reports and other items on your “desk”. I don’t want to give them away, so head on over to Unfiction if you wish to cheat. Play the entire nine mission game and see how you compare to others. Salt, starring Angelina Jolie and Liev Schreiber, is directed by Phillip Noyce (Clear and Present Danger, The Saint) and written by Kurt Wimmer (The Thomas Crown Affair, Law Abiding Citizen) and Brian Helgeland (Conspiracy Theory, Robin Hood). See it in theaters on July 23rd. ARGs & Campaigns Viral Marketing Angelina JolieARGDay X ExistsSalt
