Battle: Los Angeles – Classic Sony Viral At Comic-Con Scott Caldwell, July 21, 2010January 19, 2011 Once you create a website, that is obviously far from the title of the film, you enter this wonderful world of viral marketing. And then, there is Sony. They seem to go their own route. The route of luring you into this amazing feeling of finding something above and beyond the film, which you think is the glory of viral. Just not to them. They give you false hope, and once you think you’re on to something, you realize it’s nothing more than an official site. Click to find out where Sony lacks on Battle: Los Angeles. MovieViral is known for its attack on Sony’s campaigns, and for good reason. They are taking the fun out of it! They are doing the work for those who are known for doing the work. They need to stop! But, they are on the same beat and path that they once went down for 2012 and District 9. Keep in mind that this is far from the “experience”, but they still plaster their name all over the damn thing like an infomercial. Please Sony; let us do what we do. We’re ok, and we can figure it out.The one thing that I will give them credit for, is other than the home page, the Sony name seems to vanish, and they let us enjoy TONS of information that they have loaded just in time for Comic-Con, with the new site known as ReportThreats. Get past the main page and into the W.A.T.C.H. (Worldwide Assessment of Threats Concerning Humankind), and the fun begins. Although it can be a bit overwhelming, there is a lot to go with, and there are multiple off-site links that could either be actual links, or turn more into a viral standpoint. At this point, I’d rather sit back and let Sony do the work. What!? You know they’re going to.From ComingSoon:“Battle: Los Angeles” revolves around a Marine staff sergeant (Eckhart) and his new platoon’s battle against an alien invasion on the streets of Los Angeles. Rodriguez will play Crpl. Adriana Santos, a member of a radio battalion. Pena plays the father of a boy the Marines find along the way, and Moynahan plays a veterinarian. The attack on LA is set for a release date of March 11, 2011 and that gives us plenty of time to get a decent campaign going.
