“The Muppets” Being Green Trailer Michael Lee, June 16, 2011June 16, 2011 No, the title isn’t the Muppets’ marketing green technology or sustainability, its another trailer parody of this summer’s blockbusters. This time a spoof of the upcoming Green Lantern trailer. Disney did the exact same thing before The Hangover Part II made its theatrical debut back in May, with The Fuzzy Pack trailer. The sequel comedy ended up having a giant box office weekend. Could this trailer also help the Green Lantern? Maybe. But I’d like to think that Disney is having a lot of fun promoting The Muppets via parody trailers. Check it out after the jump.I have to say Kermit reciting the first few lines of the Green Lantern’s oath mixed with jokes about his height and talent for the banjo is pretty hilarious. Add the cliché lines of “We need you” from Miss Piggy and Chris Cooper’s nefarious plotting with some devious Muppets and you got yourself a parody trailer. I also like how Jason Segel is aware of the fact that this and the previous trailers are parodies. This makes me believe that we will probably be getting an actual trailer for the film sometime in the near future. Regardless, it is a lot of fun to see not only the marketing team have fun with these trailers, but the cast as well.Check out The Muppets’ first trailer parody of a romantic comedy here.
