Human Preservation Project Puts You in a Comic at NYCC

Caleb Hamilton, October 19, 2011October 19, 2011

We haven’t reported on 5 Gum’s Human Preservation Project viral in a while. The last time we checked in, the third testing facility was getting ready to open. Since then, more mysterious packages have been delivered. Also, during the New York Comic-Con, the Human Preservation Project was present, putting test subjects into their own comic panel. Hit the jump for more.

Last week, several entertainment blogs received mysterious packages that contained a radio with a giant speaker attached. When the station is changed, a female’s voice begins speaking, sending out a distress signal. That is the voice of a new character, Natalia Suttinger (played by Summer Glau), who works with the Neuro-Analytics Protocol and has level 5 clearance lab clearance. The radio played multiple messages from Suttinger including:

The world is our lab. The evidence is all around you.”

and

“If we ignore our surroundings we might just tumble back into the abyss… This is a call with no response….I’m trusting that you, whoever you are will heed the call.”

While at NYCC on Friday, Summer revealed that her character will be appearing soon, and is connected to Terry O’Quinn’s Dr. Traelek. Summer also participated in an interview, which you can view below:

The Human Preservation Project set up camp at NYCC, handing out samples of the new 5 Gum flavor, Swerve. They were also registering new test subjects for the project and giving away t-shirts in return. The coolest part of their booth: the replica of the giant test chamber with the metallic ball pit surrounded by speakers seen in 5 Gum commercials. Test Subjects were invited to lay in the pit and have their picture taken which were then inlayed into a log file similar to those found while exploring the testing facilities:

It was also revealed that another ice fly drop will be occurring soon, so stay tuned!
