Since Fall of 2010, Disney California Adventure Park turned its Hollywood Backlot section into ElecTRONica to celebrate the Disney sequel TRON: Legacy. One of the mainstays of the section has been a recreation of Flynn’s Arcade complete with classic arcade games including TRON itself. Now a petition hopes to keep the arcade a permanent fixture of the amusement park. More after the jump.
While it is unclear when ElecTRONica will be removed from California Adventure, which is located across from Disneyland in Anaheim, CA, it can be assumed that Flynn’s Arcade will be taken out at that time as well. The group behind this petition looks to prevent that from happening. Below is official description of the “Keep Flynn’s Arcade open.” petition.
We the undersigned would like the oppurtunity [sic] to have you hear our plea to keep Flynn’s Arcade open. Flynn’s is a place for families to come together and play the arcade games that everyone loves and also get a piece of Tron history. Tron has become a favorite in the hearts of young and old and should be a pemanant [sic] fixture inside California Adventure.
I find it a bit strange to have a petition to prevent something from happening when there is no evidence of when or even if it will happen. However, I like their spirit, so if you are interested, I recommend that you sign the petition just in case.
