Trailers Weekly: “The East”, “Olympus Has Fallen”, “The Heat”, “Inside Llewyn Davis”, “Upside Down” Michael Lee, January 26, 2013 Trailers Weekly is a feature in which we bring you the most popular and talked about trailers of the week. This week we have trailers for The East, Olympus Has Fallen, The Heat, Inside Llewyn Davis, and Upside Down. Hit the jump to see them all.The East The East is Zal Batmanglij’s follow up directorial effort after his previous Sundance hit The Sound of My Voice. He reunites with Brit Marling for a film that centers on Eco-terrorism and what these people will do go get their voice heard. The film also stars Ellen Page, Alexander Skarsgård, Toby Kebbell, Julia Ormond and Aldis Hodge. Fox Searchlight Pics picked up the project but has not set up a release date. Olympus Has Fallen Don’t confuse this film with White House Down (starring Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx), Olympus has fallen stars Gerard Bulter as a sulking Secret Service Agent who must find a way to stop terrorists from taking over the White House. Aaron Eckhart plays the our nation’s President, while Rick Yune plays the leader of the terrorists. Film hits theaters this March. The Heat Sanda Bullock and Melissa McCarthy have very different ways of laying down the law. One plays it by the books, the other has her own set of rules. But together they make quite the pair. Directed by Bridesmaids’ helmer Paul Feig, Fox will release The Heat on April 5th Inside Llewyn Davis Oscar Issac plays the titular character in this bioic directed by the Coen Brothers. Carey Mulligan, Adam Driver, Justin Timberlake, John Goodman, Garrett Hedlund also star. Set in New York, the film is partially based on partly based on Van Ronk’s memoir The Mayor of MacDougal Street, which covers Davis’ presence as a musician during the 60s. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on February 8th. Upside Down It’s been a long time since we’ve heard about Upside Down, but we are glad that it’s coming out. Jim Strugess and Kirsten Dunst star in this Romeo & Juliet-esque sci-fi flick which revolves around two universes living on polar opposite worlds. One world is right-side up and the other is upside down or visa-versa depending on your point of view. The film opens in theaters on March 15. What did you think of this week’s trailers?
