WonderCon 2013 Days 2 and 3 Blog and Gallery

My second and third days for WonderCon 2013 were not as diverse as my first day, so I decided to combine them into one post for you all to read. Check out my blog on the last two days of WonderCon after the break along with a small gallery of photos I took.

Saturday was the day that all the big studio movies were being featured in the Arena. First, I got to see the Warner Bros. panel, which you can read more about here. The Conjuring looked really scary, and James Wan is starting to really make a name for himself in the horror genre. The Pacific Rim footage looked great as well.

Next was the panel for NBC’s new show Revolution. We got a sizzle reel that promises a lot more action, but the cast and crew were pretty cryptic about what was coming up. We do know that we’ll get some new blood with Aaron Pittman’s wife returning and the introduction of the female leader of the Georgia Federation. Also, that capsule we see Rachel remove from Danny’s body will play a big role within the next few episodes.

Finally, we had the panel for Sony/Screen Gem, which you can read about in detail here. I don’t think I’m the demographic for Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, but it looks OK. The clips from Evil Dead were gory and cringeworthy in the best way possible, and Bruce Campbell was hilarious on the panel. Finally, This is the End surprised me with how funny the new trailer and clips were.

Sunday was all Batman, as I did roundtable interviews with the cast and crew of LEGO Batman: The Movie-DC Superheroes Unite, then joined the premiere screening of the film. I’ll post both the audio of the interviews and my review of the movie in the next few days, but I will say that the movie is hilarious and silly. It’s a great way to introduce kids to the world and characters of DC Comics.

Other than that, I just roamed the exhibition floor some more. Saturday and Sunday were both packed, but still nothing like San Diego Comic-Con. The Mondo booth had some nice movie posters ranging from $40-$75, but the overall lack of movie-centric booths kept me from hanging out longer.

That is not all our coverage for WonderCon, so stay tuned to the site over the next few days as a few more interviews and movie reviews come pouring out. Also, we’ll be back to cover San Diego Comic-Con in July, so stay tuned for more on that.
