D23 Expo 2013: “Thor: The Dark World” Details Multirealm Angst & Serious Infections Michael Lee, August 10, 2013August 10, 2013 Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige was at the D23 Expo to present from very exciting and very exclusive footage to their fans. He briefly talked about the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, first talking about how Iron Man started it all, which then culminated to last year’s The Avengers. But then he moved on to Phase 2 and talked about Iron Man 3 and the upcoming Thor: The Dark World. What we see is that there will be many more realms to explore, dangerous alliances being made, and betrayals that you will never see coming. Hit the jump for more. In the first clip we see a war raging on between another race of monsters vs the Asgardian forces. Things seem to be on an equal playing field, that is, until Thor appears on screen to tip the likelihood of victory in their favor. We move onto the second clip where it is revealed that Thor (Chris Hemsworth) brought Jane (Natalie Portman) into Asgard without anyone’s permission. As the Asgardian medics try to clear Jane of any sort of infection that she might have carried over, she talks about how the technology resembles a quantum field generator she has back on Earth. The medic says that it is actually a soul forge, but Jane retorts by talking about how the tech works, and how it is actually a “quantum field generator.” Unfortunately the jokes end, and an infection is found within Jane. Odin (Anthony Hopkins) then walks in and compares him bringing her to their world like someone bringing a goat to a banquet. He demands that she be sent back so that Earth’s doctors can take care of her. Though she feels flattered that Thor has been talking to his dad about her, she feels insulted that she just had been called a goat. But before Thor can stop the Asgardians from apprehending her, a red pulse pushes them back. The panel closes with a scene that involves an act of betrayal. But I’ll leave it up to you, the readers, to figure out, who exactly is betraying who. Conventions Events Anthony HopkinsChris HemsworthD23 ExpoNatalie PortmanThor: The Dark WorldTom Hiddleston
