Gameloft Teases “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” Official Game Kevin C, February 6, 2014April 15, 2015 Popular game developer Gameloft is offering a first look at the official game for the upcoming movie Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Given the recent Super Bowl trailer hype and comic releases, this should help keep the marketing attention on the film, now just a couple months away. Hit the jump for more details, and to take a first peek at the new game. Not much is known about the game’s storyline, but Gameloft does explain some of what we can expect with the title:“Fans will enjoy taking the role of Captain America and leading an elite team of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents in battle against famous Marvel villains involved in a sinister global plot. Complete with the ability to join clans in multiplayer mode and to compete for a higher position in leagues, gamers will enjoy hours of entertainment in a unique comic-book-style world. An original story inspired by the film, cowritten by Marvel, provides a gripping narrative for the game.”This suggests some sort of online component as well as a storyline that branches off (or adds to) the movie’s plot. Being co written by Marvel does add a level of control we might expect from a Marvel title. The game appears to be shooting for a more comic-looking aesthetic over that of a CGI realistic one. This, complete with “Zbam!” types of sound effects floating above engaged enemies. In the trailer, we also see the Winter Soldier, so he should play a big part in the story and the game itself. Here’s a first look at Captain America: The Winter Soldier – The Official Game Captain America: The Winter Soldier – The Official Game should arrive for the iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Android in late March. Captain America: The Winter Soldier will star Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson, and more. Captain America: The Winter Soldier opens April 4.
