Spider-Man’s Deadliest Villains, Carnage and Venom, Mentioned On “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” Viral Site Michael Lee, April 10, 2014 One of the concerns fans had about The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was that it was chock full of villains. Aleksei Sytsevich aka The Rhino (Paul Giamatti), Max Dillion aka Electro (Jamie Foxx), and Green Goblin (Dane DeHaan) will all be fighting Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield) in the highly anticipated sequel. But for those villains who didn’t get a starring role, they have been introduced via the film’s official viral site The Daily Bugle Tumblr Blog.Shocker, Puma, Doc Ock, Vulture, Hobgoblin, are just some of the villains that have been mentioned on the site. Now The Daily Bugle is adding two more villains to the viral marketing rouge gallery: Carnage and Venom.Hit the jump to read the full article, and why this latest viral site update may be the most important of all. It’s interesting to see that Carnage and Venom would pop up now out of all days. Considering Drew Goddard is signed on to direct the Sinister Six spinoff, it should be interesting to see what happens to Venom, if he or the symbiote is even a part of The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman are writing the script to that film. Here is the full article:KILLER KASADY CAUGHT By Eddie BrockThe greater New York tri-state area got a whole lot safer yesterday. Captured late last night, Cletus Kasady, escaped serial killer and notorious redhead, was eerily calm and subdued when he eagerly surrendered to the FBI. The manhunt for the FBI’s Most Wanted felon ended innocuously in a small strip mall outside of New Rochelle, New York.A barista at a local coffee shop recognized Kasady and eventually called the police. The barista apologized to reporters later admitting she didn’t immediately alert authorities hoping Spider-Man would beat them to the scene. “What can I say? I am a HUGE fan.”Kasady had been sentenced to twelve life sentences for the twelve murders he committed — but escaped while being transported between federal prisons. Sources say Kasady has been remanded to Ravencroft Institute for further interrogation until he is relocated to a maximum security federal prison. While the barista didn’t get her wish, we know Spider-Man thanks her… as we all do. For now it appears that Kasady won’t be causing any more carnage.See what the viral marketing team did there with that last word? “Carnage.”But the important thing to know is that, according to Slashfilm, Yahoo posted the blog post before it was actually posted on the Tumblr Site. As the site points out “Sony wants to call this post out in particular.”It’s interesting move to introduce these two characters now. Perhaps the symbiote does play a role in the sequel, but not as a big of a one as we’d like to think. Maybe it will be some sort of catalyst for the sequels and spinoffs. Carnage was never introduced in the film series, but has made a few appearances in the different animated series that have aired in the past.We will keep you up to date on how these introductions have changed The Amazing Spider-Man 2 viral site.Opening May 2, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Dane Dehaan, Paul Giamatti, Chris Cooper, Sally Field, and more. It is directed by Marc Webb, and written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, and Jeff Pinker. ARGs & Campaigns Viral Marketing Viral News The Amazing Spider-Man 2The Daily Bugle
