Watch “Snowpiercer” With Director Bong Joon Ho While On A Train Michael Lee, June 2, 2014June 2, 2014 I was absolutely thrilled to get an invite to watch Bong Joon Ho‘s Snowpiercer the other day. The film was on our most anticipated list of 2014, and for good reason. Survivors live on a forever-running train that travels across futuristic dystopian earth that has been frozen over due to mankind’s hope of ending global warming. And now with the dispute between The Weinstein Company and Jong-Ho behind them, we can watch the film as it was meant to be seen. But the Alamo Drafthouse has figured out a way to enhance your Snowpiecer viewing experience by watching it on a train with the film’s director! Hit the jump to find out how you can join in on his fun one-of-a-kind experience. You will have to be in the Burnet, TX area or plan on traveling over there to attend the event. Otherwise, you are pretty much out of luck. However, if you do plan on joining, you are in for quite a treat. Per the official press release as seen on Bad Ass Digest:Guests will get a taste of life aboard a speeding train – albeit in much more comfort – with a ride to and from the screening on the Hill Country Flyer Steam Train.Jong Ho himself will introduce and be in attendance for a post-film Q&A. Alamo CEO and Founder, Tim League, will host the event. Below is the full press release. The Alamo Drafthouse is proud to present a unique Rolling Roadshow adventure. On June 21st, guests will roll out to beautiful Burnet, TX, aboard a vintage steam train to watch an exclusive advance screening of the highly anticipated SNOWPIERCER with Director Bong Joon Ho in attendance. The latest from the acclaimed director of THE HOST and MOTHER, SNOWPIERCER is a sci-fi thriller set in a future where a failed global-warming experiment kills off all life on the planet except for a lucky few that boarded the Snowpiercer, a train that perpetually travels around the globe. A class system has evolved aboard the train, fiercely dividing its population, and revolution brews. Starring Chris Evans, Song Kang Ho, Tilda Swinton, Jamie Bell, Octavia Spencer, Ewen Bremner, John Hurt, and Ed Harris, SNOWPIERCER opens in theaters on June 27th. Guests will get a taste of life aboard a speeding train – albeit in much more comfort – with a ride to and from the screening on the Hill Country Flyer Steam Train. Boarding begins at 5:30 pm. The train will depart from Cedar Park, TX, promptly at 6:00 pm and arrives in Burnet at 7:45 pm. The screening will take place under the stars, after sundown at 8:45 pm. Food and beverage will be available for sale on site at the screening. Director Bong Joon Ho will be on hand to introduce the film and for a post-show Q&A. Alamo CEO and Founder, Tim League, will host the event. To purchase tickets, visit HERE.This wouldn’t be the first time that the Alamodraft House has hosted such events. The theater house has hosted events like these by putting attendees in coffins for Buried, and hosted feasts for Lord of the Rings screenings or drinking wine while watching The Princess Bride. These one-of-a-kind of experiences aren’t just for any movie, so if you live or plan on being in the area, better get the tickets while you can.Starring Chris Evans, Jamie Bell, John Hurt, Tilda Swinton, Octavia Spencer, Alison Pill, and Ed Harris, Snowpiercer opens in theaters on June 27.
