‘Walking Dead’ Kicks Off Universal Halloween Horror Nights 2014 Maze Reveals

Sabina, June 9, 2014

Who says June is too early for Halloween?

For many, excitement for Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights starts as soon as the day after the current one ends. Fans begin to speculate what John Murdy (Hollywood’s creative director) and Co. will bring the following October for the whole year in between. And for the recent incarnations of Universal’s Halloween event, Murdy has interacted with the fanbase via twitter to drop hints and answer questions about all things HHN.

This morning, @HorrorNights kicked off it’s maze announcements on twitter with the reveal of the first maze to hit both Universal Studios Hollywood and Orlando. For the third consecutive year AMC’s The Walking Dead will take-over the backlot with “Welcome to The Walking Dead: End of the Line” inspired by season four of the hit show. Hints were dropped yesterday to keep fans guessing but this one was a no-brainer as the Walking Dead is pretty much the most popular monster inspired show on television.

More information on the maze was revealed via Murdy’s tweets.

“For a time, the fences of the West Georgia Correctional Facility has provided a safe haven for a small band of survivors…”

— Horror Nights (@HorrorNights) June 9, 2014

“But a mysterious new virus has broken out inside the prison, infecting the residents and causing them to “turn” into walkers…” — Horror Nights (@HorrorNights) June 9, 2014

“Now the fences that kept the walkers out have been destroyed and the walls of prison have been reduced to a smoldering ruin…”

— Horror Nights (@HorrorNights) June 9, 2014

“The survivors have no choice but to take their chances back out on the road…a journey that will be filled with unimaginable horrors…” — Horror Nights (@HorrorNights) June 9, 2014

“You’ll follow in the footsteps of the human survivors on the show as you flee the overrun prison and enter a nightmarish landscape…” — Horror Nights (@HorrorNights) June 9, 2014

“…searching for a promised new safe haven that may not be all that it seems. Don’t look back…until you reach the end of the line!”

— Horror Nights (@HorrorNights) June 9, 2014

Now for those who are walker groaning at the thought of more Walking Dead, don’t fret. Seems it’s the only returning maze.

There is MUCH more to come for HHN 2014 HOLLYWOOD, all of the maze properties to come HAVE NEVER BEEN FEATURED AT THE EVENT. Stay tuned…

— Horror Nights (@HorrorNights) June 9, 2014

What horror properties do you wanna see at Universal?

Last year Orlando got Cabin in the Woods so it totally counts as never been featured at Hollywood’s HHN.
