TrailersWeekly

Trailers Weekly is a feature in which we bring you the most popular and talked about trailers of the week. Sharing trailers is a classic viral practice, and trailers are still the most mainstream way for people to learn about movies. We’ve got trailers from Miss Meadows, Men, Women, and Children, Annabelle, Nightcrawler, and Automata. Hit the jump to see them all.

Miss Meadows
Katie Holmes plays a small-town school teacher with a very dark secret. She teaches lessons about kindness and courage by day, but by night she is a vigilante killing criminals to prey on the weak. There is that indie feel to the film which thanks in part to an interesting concept and Holmes’ name attached could give it the potential to be a big hit. Miss Meadows opens November 14, 2014.

Men, Women, and Children

Jason Reitman‘s latest directorial effort also focuses on a small town, but instead of murderous school teachers, his film focuses on how technology has affected men, women, and children. The film stars Adam Sandler, Ansel Elgort, Kaitlyn Dever, Judy Greer, Rosemarie DeWitt, Jennifer Garner, and Dennis Haysbert. It is set for a November release.

Automata
Automata is a futuristic thriller that blends themes from Issac Asimov and District 9 and blends them together. Antonio Banderas stars in the film is the lead character living in the not too distant future where Earth has become a desolate wasteland, and robots thought to be nothing more than machines without a conscience, are actually building one. These robots soon build a community which threaten the humans’ livelihood. The film opens October 10.

Nightcrawler
Lou Bloom, an ambitious young man desperate for work, discovers the world of L.A. crime journalism. When Lou learns of a group of freelance camera crews who film crashes, fires, murder and other mayhem, Lou muscles his way into the dangerous realm of night crawling, where a police siren wail means a possible windfall, and victims are converted into dollars and cents. Aided by Nina, a local TV news veteran, Lou blurs the line between observer and participant. Nightcrawler stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Rene Russo, and Bill Paxton. It opens October 31.

Annabelle

She terrified you in “The Conjuring,” but this is where it all began for Annabelle. Capable of unspeakable evil, the actual doll exists locked up in an occult museum in Connecticut—visited only by a priest who blesses her twice a month. New Line Cinema’s supernatural thriller “Annabelle” begins before the evil was unleashed. John Form has found the perfect gift for his expectant wife, Mia—a beautiful, rare vintage doll in a pure white wedding dress. But Mia’s delight with Annabelle doesn’t last long. On one horrific night, their home is invaded by members of a satanic cult, who violently attack the couple. Spilled blood and terror are not all they leave behind. The cultists have conjured an entity so malevolent that nothing they did will compare to the sinister conduit to the damned that is now…Annabelle. The film opens in October.
