Is Dimension Using Facebook to Start A Viral Campaign For ‘Scream 4’? Dan Koelsch, March 15, 2011March 15, 2011 It may not turn into a full campaign, but Dimension Films is definitely going viral with their marketing for Scream 4. The Sidney Prescott public figure page on Facebook has some interesting photos that are in-world. Check them out after the break. For fans of the Wes Craven satirical horror series, you should know that the series protagonist Sidney (played by Neve Campbell) has had some bad luck when it comes to homicidal maniacs. Her three amazing survivals of the iconic Ghostface Killer are turned into a film series called “Stab” (talk about meta). Sidney is now a writer, and photos have been added to her Facebook of various newspaper clips talking about Sidney and the Stab movies. The clippings don’t give us much new information, but it’s cool to see the events of the first films treated as real events. With just a few weeks until the movie’s release, if this goes anywhere, we’ll see it soon, so stay tuned.Scream 4 opens in theaters on April 15th. Social Networks Viral Marketing FacebookScream 4
